Looking for a quality preschool within a Waterford daycare? We’re here to help! Believe it or not, a child will learn an incredible amount of knowledge during the early years of preschool that will prepare them for the world of kindergarten and beyond. In the past, early childhood education was the responsibility of the parents; it was up to you to teach them and prepare them for their school-age years (talk about pressure!). Daycare wasn’t as popular then, but fast forward to current times where households have changed dramatically. That’s where preschool comes in! At Breakie Bunch’s Waterford, Michigan daycare, we are here and ready to help nurture your little ones and prepare them for a lifetime full of learning (while taking the pressure off of busy parents). Not only will they be exposed to letters and numbers early on, but they’ll also learn things like other languages, art, and how to interact with others.
Social Skills
Sometimes it’s hard going from being the center of someone’s world to being in a group with others. Preschool is the perfect arena for adjusting to being away from parents, as well as learning how to play with other kiddos. For some kids, preschool or childcare are the first time around other children, the first time without mom or dad, and their first time with a teacher. That’s a lot to take in, right?
This is why preschool is so awesome for learning how to adjust and grow socially. It’s providing a quality start to education while being disguised as discovery and play. When they’re playing with the other kids, they’re learning to compromise and to share. By being with one of our caring, nurturing teachers, your child will learn how to interact on a daily basis with others, which is a sure step to a successful future.
Health
Did you know that going to preschool is good for your child’s health, too? Preschool is a time where a kid is learning about their bodies. They are learning to be self-sufficient in something as simple as going potty and they’re learning to zip their own coats. This is a big deal! It’s not easy to use those little fingers to do that kind of stuff. This even includes using scissors and markers and crayons on their own. All of this helps your little bean to become a big kid.
Not only do these lessons help in fine-tuning those motor skills, but it also helps a child to be more aware of their surroundings and learn skills like walking with scissors with the point down, for example. When learning to wash our hands (or sneeze into our elbows!), we are learning about germs and how not to spread them, even learning about our own personal hygiene.
Reading
The earlier you expose your kiddo to books, the better. And we like nothing more than a good story time here at The Breakie Bunch. Reading is a very important part of your child’s education. Early literacy is so important for kids because when reading starts early in a child’s life, it has been proven to strongly affect educational achievement.
By age three, most of our brain’s core structure is already formed, yet traditional schooling doesn’t technically start until kindergarten at age five. This is where preschool comes in handy! Not only will reading early to your child have a positive impact on their cognitive development, but also, kids who are exposed to books early on are even more likely to do better in things like counting, writing their own name, and reading on their own.
Preschool has such a positive impact on your child. It can be so incredibly hard to let them go, but to see them grow into something amazing is truly the best feeling in the world. Our qualified teachers are among the best in Michigan daycare. They are here to do everything we can to assure your child is prepared to take on the big kid world. Let us help your child grow.
